Catholic Education Week

Event starts Apr 30, 2017 and ends May 5, 2017

Catholic Education: Walking Forward Together

During the week of April 30 to May 5, 2017, the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board will celebrate the significant contributions that Catholic Education has made to the community, the province and to the world.

The theme for this year’s Catholic Education Week is “Catholic Education: Walking Forward Together.” The overall scriptural theme is taken from the Book of Micah (Micah 6: 8), “Do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with your God."

The five sub-themes, one for each day of Catholic Education Week, are drawn from three contemporary documents that address the need for reconciliation and renewal in our lives, our families, our relationships with others, our relationship with our environment, and our common global future:
• Day 1: Walking Forward Together with God
• Day 2: Walking Forward Together with Our Families
• Day 3: Walking Forward Together with Others
• Day 4: Walking Forward Together with Creation
• Day 5: Walking Forward Together in Hope

Catholic Education Week is marked by special activities at the school and system level, including prayer celebrations and service activities.

Parents, family and community members are invited to visit our schools during this special week and join in the many activities planned to celebrate Catholic Education Week 2017.

More information will be posted on Board and school websites closer to Catholic Education Week.
