Parents and students were engaged at SKT's Math Breakfast on Thursday April 5th. Both parents and students shared in lots of learning about math as well as a discussion around a variety of concrete and virtual tools to support mathematical learning in all our math classrooms, FDK to Grade 8. Our First Math Breakfast was a huge success as over 25 families, totaling over 70 people (parents and children), participated in our morning's event. Packages for Primary, Junior and Intermediate families filled with tools and resources to support student learning were sent home with each participating family. Congratulations goes to: Myla M., Gabby A., and Iszabelle H. as our Math Board Game raffle winners. A big thank you goes out to Miss Evelin Niemiec, our Math Special Assignment Teacher for her leadership in organizing this event and to her MSAT team for coming to support the morning's learning as well. Thank you also goes out to our Educational Assistants who assisted in our set-up and our SKT Math Breakfast teacher team for their support and partnership. Together - many hands make light work!
Additional thanks to Ms. Standish for her leadership in working alongside both myself and Miss. Niemiec to determine how this parent engagement opportunity would best work for all stakeholders. Her leadership is appreciated.
