We are excited to announce that our school will be participating in the Industry Education Council (IEC) of Hamilton’s Hamilton Code Clubs Initiative. Through this initiative, a Coding Club for grades 4-8 students has been established to provide students the opportunity to explore career possibilities in computer programming and to develop basic coding skills. The School Coding Club will meet on Mondays – starting Monday February 4th, 11:35-12:20 pm in the learning commons.

Week 3 - Feb. 25 (Skip Feb. 18 - Family Day)
Week 4 - Mar. 18 (Skip Mar. 4 – Tubing Trip)
Week 5 - Mar. 25 (Skip Mar. 11 - March Break)
Week 6 – Apr. 1
Club members will be introduced to various coding concepts including: sequence, iteration (looping), conditional statements, variable, event handling, and user interface design through visual programming languages.
Your child has expressed interest in joining the School Coding Club. To actively participate in the Coding Club, he/she will be required to create User Accounts. Account creation will be facilitated by the school with parental consent. Please complete the second half of this form and return it to Ms. Standish or Mr. Docherty by Friday February 1st 2019. Forms will be available and handed out to interested students on Monday January 28th.
