The Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board is committed to ensuring that “Catholic schools are places of hope, places where diversity of human kind is to be celebrated” and places where racism of any kind is not tolerated.
We are committed to listening and learning from those who have and continue to experience racism. To that end, we are seeking Black, Indigenous and racialized parents and guardians to serve on the Board’s Anti-Racism Education Committee.
The committee was recently formed to advise the HWCDSB on strategies to promote and strengthen anti-racism education to ensure an understanding of the needs of black, Indigenous and racialized students within our schools.
We are looking for parents/guardians of students currently enrolled in schools of the HWCDSB:
• who are from the Black, Indigenous, racialized community;
• who can develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships;
• who are open to supporting the HWCDSB in working towards anti-racism initiatives.Click here to apply.
The deadline to apply is Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.
