Effective Monday, November 8, 2021, verification of daily student screening will no longer be required.
The decision was cautiously made by Hamilton Public Health Services in consultation with the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board as the number of COVID-19 cases in our community continues to remain low. This means that proof of daily screening – whether through the attestation calendars or the green check mark from the online screening tool – is no longer required to be shown.
The lifting of the in-school validation does not have an impact on other public health measures in place. Parents/guardians must continue to screen their children daily for symptoms of COVID-19 using the school and child care screening tool
. Other important measures include getting vaccinated if you are born in 2009 and earlier, masking, physically distancing, and staying home when you are sick.
Together, we can help keep our school safer and open.
City of Hamilton Public Health Services will continue to closely monitor the local situation as it relates to COVID-19 and the Delta variant, and the need to introduce any additional measures to protect school communities or to lift measures when they are no longer deemed necessary.
