Fire Safety Friday – Barbecue Safety

Event Date: May 13, 2022

The Hamilton Fire Department (HFD) has developed a series of “Fire Safety Friday” messages for students and caregivers, as part of its Elementary School Fire Safety Education Program Initiative.

This week’s message, Barbecue Safety, highlights the importance of barbecue safety. Remember to stay a safe distance away from a hot barbeque so you don’t get burned!

Never leave your grill unattended. Your grill should always be placed well away from the home, deck railings and out from under eaves and overhanging branches, which can easily catch fire. Follow these simple tips for safe grilling: https://www.nfpa.org/-/media/Files/Public- ... .

The fire safety message and affiliated content is derived from the Hamilton Fire Department, Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal, and the National Fire Prevention Association.
